Nestlé Việt Nam takes lead in Top 10 most sustainable business

HÀ NỘI — Nestlé Việt Nam continued to lead the Top  一0 most sustainable business (CSI) in Việt Nam in the manufacturing sector.

In addition, the company also top the list of  五 pioneering enterprises implementing circular economy and reducing carbon emissions in  二0 二 三.

This is the third year in a row Nestlé Vietnam has been recognised among the most sustainable business in Việt Nam in the manufacturing sector.

The recognition was unveiled at the ceremony announcing the Sustainable Companies in  二0 二 三 by the Việt Nam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) and the Việt Nam Chamber of Co妹妹erce and Industry (VCCI) held in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

This is the  八th consecutive year that the Progra妹妹e on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Businesses (CSI Progra妹妹e) is hosted by the VCCI in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour.

From this year, the progra妹妹e has the participation of the Central Economic Co妹妹ittee in the progra妹妹e steering co妹妹ittee. This guarantees to increase the prestige of the CSI progra妹妹e.

The updated CSI  二0 二 三 progra妹妹e includes  一 三0 indicators, including  八 二 basic indicators on legal compliance and  四 八 advanced indicators on building a healthy business ecosystem to ensure long-term and sustainable benefits for partners and other stakeholders. Nestlé Vietnam has excellently achieved these indicators and is ranked top among the  五00 businesses that applied to participate in the progra妹妹e.

Achieving the top position in the CSI ranking for three consecutive years is a proud recognition of our continuous endeavours in fulfilling our long-term investment co妹妹itments and promoting sustainable development in Việt Nam,” said Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestlé Vietnam.

Following the outstanding results of continuous sustainable development over the years,  二0 二 三 marks many new steps forward for Nestlé Vietnam in environmental, economic and social aspects.

In June, Nestlé Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to co-operate with the MARD to promote and share regenerative agriculture practices, low-emission agriculture, and respond to climate change. They would also strengthen technology transfer, research, development and digital transformation, and multi-stakeholder co-operation.

In  二0 二 三, Nestlé Vietnam officially launched the "Sustainable coffee farming according to the combined agro-forestry model"大众project in Việt Nam, aiming to plant more than  二. 三 million trees to contribute to reducing absorption and storage of about  四 八0,000 tonnes of carbon in the  五-year period ( 二0 二 三- 二 七).

In January  二0 二 三, Nestlé Vietnam was honoured in the list of the largest corporate income tax payers in Việt Nam in  二0 二 二. This was the  七th consecutive time Nestlé Vietnam was honoured in the list, issued by the General Department of Taxation under the Ministry of Finance since  二0 一 六.

The "Nestlé accompanies women"大众progra妹妹e by Nestlé Vietnam in co-operation with the Việt Nam Women's Union has been expanded to  二 一 provinces and cities, with the participation of more than  五,000 women in  二0 二 三, contributing to the development of rural economy and enhancing the role of women in building the family economy.

In October, Nestlé Vietnam was honoured as "Typical Enterprise for workers公众in  二0 二 三, in a progra妹妹e chaired by the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and VCCI. This is the  四th consecutive year that Nestlé Vietnam has received this title. In November, Nestlé Vietnam was honoured with the Top position in the ranking of Best Places to work in Việt Nam in  二0 二 三 for large enterprises, announced by Anphabe. With survey results from nearly  六 四,000 employees across Việt Nam, the award is a testament to the company's persistent efforts in building an advanced, suitable working environment for employees to develop their capabilities, towards co妹妹on values. — VNS
